Office for Strategic Coordination of Health Research Progress Report Published

8th November 2008
The Office for Strategic Co-ordination of Health Research (OSCHR) was established 22 months ago following Sir David Cooksey's recommendations (A review of UK health research funding) for better co-ordination of health research activities across the UK, and a stronger focus on translating basic science into improved care for NHS patients.

A progress report has been published highlighting the main elements of the combined approach that has been put in place by the NIHR and the Medical Research Council (MRC) since the Cooksey review. The EME programme is included in the summary of progress to date. The report is located at www.nihr.ac.uk/files/pdfs/OSCHR_Progress_Report_18.11.08.pdf (1.22MB) opens in a new window
