NIHR TCC launches Research Professorships

08 August 2011

The NIHR Trainees Coordinating Centre (TCC) is inviting nominations from universities and NHS organisations in England for up to five NIHR Research Professorships.

The professorships are aimed at leaders in the early stages of their career and will enable successful applicants to conduct translational research at a professorial level for five years. The aim is to facilitate strong research leadership and develop research capacity in areas critical to accelerating the transfer of research ideas into improved health. Successful candidates will also receive funding to allow them to allocate time to deliver or collaborate with services on a weekly basis.

Research Professorships are open to health researchers and methodologists with experience in health research at a consultant level or equivalent, working in the areas of medicine, health services research or methodological research.

The deadline for nominations is 21 September 2011. Please see www.nihrtcc.nhs.uk for details.
