The Efficacy and Mechanism Evaluation programme is funded by the MRC and managed by the NIHR Evaluation, Trials and Studies Coordinating Centre (NETSCC), based at the University of Southampton.

NETSCC is based in the School of Medicine at the University of Southampton and manages a number of research programmes link on behalf of the Department of Health. As such the programme's annual report and research findings are incorporated into the DH Freedom of Information publication scheme link 

Publication scheme

The NETSCC makes information available to the public in electronic and printed form as follows:

Electronically on the various programme websites:

  1. Full details and full text versions of all the published work of the programmes. These files can be viewed or downloaded free of charge for personal use or private study.
  2. Pages explaining how each programme works .
  3. The project costs and details of all contracts awarded under the various programmes.
  4. Updates, bulletins and an Annual Report for each programme, where produced.
  5. Full text of all published work of the programmes, where produced.

Information not covered by the publication scheme

Information not made available through the publication scheme may be requested. Requests should be made in writing to:

NETSCC will normally have 20 working days to respond. Within this time frame the NETSCC will confirm or deny in writing whether it holds the requested information and, subject to exemptions, will communicate this information to the enquirer.

Information subject to an exemption in the Act will not be released. A fee may be charged.

Complaints and appeals

If you are not satisfied with the way we have handled your request or with the reasons we have given for refusing to provide information, you have the right to appeal. Questions, comments or complaints should be sent to the Information Manager at the address above.

The Information Commissioner is responsible for enforcing the operation of the scheme and you may appeal direct to him at any time at data@dataprotection.gov.uk
