It is important that you give us advance notice of all published work related to your project, throughout the course of the research.

Editorial

On completion of the research project a draft final report will be submitted to the EME programme, by the project team, within 14 days. This will be peer reviewed and then published in the NIHR Efficacy and Mechanism Review (EME) journal. Please visit the NETSCC website for further detailed information.

Research teams are encouraged to plan the submission of their draft final report in detail and to allocate resources to the editorial process as contractual penalties may be applied for reports that become overdue.

We are also happy for you (or other journals) to link to the EME website to maximise coverage of your final report.  To arrange to set up links please email the EME programme. A template for the final report will be available here in due course.

 Publication of Project Outputs

The EME programme encourages research teams to actively engage in publicising their research; in print, on the web, at conferences and via public engagement events. Please complete the Notification of Research Outputs document whenever you publicise your research.

The EME programme needs to inform the Department of Health in advance of published material. This is so that, if we are approached with a query about your work, the Department can provide an informed response. We require copies of all materials submitted for publication. Please ensure that these are sent to the EME programme at the time of submission or at least 28 days prior to publication, whichever is earlier.

Acknowledging Funding

It is important that the EME programme is acknowledged as the funding source. All published material must contain the following acknowledgement of funding and disclaimer:

"This report is independent research funded by the MRC and managed by the NIHR on behalf of the MRC-NIHR partnership. The views expressed in this publication are those of the author(s) and not necessarily those of the MRCNHSNIHR or the Department of Health."

After the Project is Complete

Even after the project is complete it is still important for the EME programme to track outputs from the research.  This helps us to be aware of the dissemination of the project and to be able to raise general awareness of the published results through EME communications work.  Please, therefore, continue to let us know about outputs and provide us with copies of any published material.
