The EME Programme funds research through three different mechanisms :

  • the researcher-led workstream which funds research questions proposed directly by researchers. It is an on-going funding opportunity and you are welcome to submit an outline application at any time, however there will be three cut off dates.
  • the commissioned workstream which advertises calls for research proposals that address specific research areas. It advertises calls for research proposals which address specific topics. These calls are advertised three times a year.
  • and by themed calls where special calls for research proposals that address themed areas are advertised. These are one-off calls for research in areas where a particular need has been identified. These are advertised on ad-hoc basis.

Current open calls

Researcher-led: We currently have calls open in our researcher-led workstream. Please visit our researcher-led page for more information.

Commsisioned: We currenlty have three topics open in the commissioned workstream. Please visit our commissioned workstream page for more information. We also have a themed call open under our commisioned workstream. Please visit our themed call page for more information
