The EME programme is managed by a secretariat at the NIHR Evaluation, Trials and Studies Coordinating Centre (NETSCC), based at the University of Southampton. The Director of NETSCC, EME is Professor Ian Cree. The secretariat ensures that effective procedures are followed to ensure that the highest quality, and best value for money, research is funded.

The secretariat works closely with researchers, the EME Board, appropriate experts and other research funding programmes.
