The EME Board is a funding body which meets three times a year to consider proposals submitted and to make funding decisions. The Board membership comprises senior, experienced clinicians and methodologists (including triallists and statisticians) who are all active researchers in their field. Each Board member is allocated a subset of the proposals to be considered at a meeting. They are expected to take responsibility for completing a detailed assessment and presenting the proposal to the wider membership.

It is expected that three Board meetings will take place each year, in February, June and October.
